General MotorsGM Announces It’s Closing 5 Factories in North America and Cutting 15 Percent of Its Workforce in 2019

General Motors announced today that 5 manufacturing facilities in the US and Canada will be closing, in what the company referred to as an effort to continue “Transforming the global enterprise to advance the company’s vision of Zero Crashes, Zero Emissions, Zero Congestion.” This marks the most substantial restructuring since the company filed for bankruptcy 10 years ago. SpaceX in orbitSpaceX Receives FCC’s Blessing To Launch Over 7,000 Satellites

Elon Musk’s SpaceX has received the green light to put over 7,000 new satellites in orbit. In a press release dated November 15th, the FCC announced that SpaceX will, as part of a four-company collective, deploy and operate the satellites in a non-geostationary, very-low Earth orbit. The other 3 companies involved are Kepler Communications, Inc., Telesat Canada, and LeoSat MA, Inc. The total number of devices deployed will be nearly 12,000. (Read More)


Toyo Tire manufacturingToyo Tire To Build New Manufacturing Plant in Georgia

Georgia Gov. Nathan Deal announced Tuesday that Toyo Tires will invest over $138 million in a new manufacturing facility in Cartersville. The plant will hire more than 150 new, full-time jobs. (Read More)
